Chittering Project Siteworks

The project commenced with approximately 700m³ of clay excavation, including the construction and battering of a substantial bund wall and preparation of the cut base for engineering inspection. During excavation, extensive rock was encountered within the building footprint, requiring our 30-tonne excavator with rock breaker to break approximately 400mm into the cut. The material was then raked, removed from the building area and either disposed of or strategically stockpiled elsewhere on the property

Following engineering requirements, ProWest installed the specified subsoil drainage system before importing approximately 1,200m³ of clean fill sand. The house pad was built progressively in controlled compaction layers, tested and certified to provide a stable platform ready for construction.

Excavation and replacement of approximately 150m² for the irrigation area, removing unsuitable clay and backfilling with clean sand.

A 250-metre site access road was supplied and constructed, providing a wide, durable route for trucks and heavy equipment with room for safe manoeuvring. A cut-off drain was built above the house pad to divert surface runoff from the elevated surrounding terrain away from the building platform. The water tank pad was cut, filled, battered and blended into the existing bund and surrounding terrain, with 100mm of compacted sand trimmed ready for tank installation. Batters, bunds, access areas and surrounding earthworks were shaped and blended for a clean, natural transition across the property.
