Clearing, grubbing and topsoil strip, then the site cut down to the design platform level. Organics and rubble come off the block rather than getting buried under the pad, and green waste, spoil and topsoil are separated as we go, which keeps disposal costs down and makes reuse on site straightforward where the spec allows it.

On a sloping block we cut the high side and fill the low side to reach the finished floor level, with retaining prep and batters formed in the same visit rather than a second mobilisation and a second week in your program.

The pad is the part your certifier actually looks at. Clean fill is placed in layers, moisture conditioned and compacted, then tested by an independent NATA accredited laboratory.

On Perth sand that means a Perth Sand Penetrometer test reported as blows per 300mm, with results plotted across the pad outline. Clay sites in the Hills and along the eastern margin use a dynamic cone penetrometer instead, and gravel based material gets nuclear density testing. We compact to the blow count or dry density ratio your engineer specifies and hand the certificate over, so the slab crew is not standing around waiting on a retest.

Builders do not book a siteworks contractor for the earthmoving. They book one because the pad has to be right on the morning the slab crew turns up.

We hold the dates we give you, run one supervisor across your jobs so you are not re-explaining the same site every visit, and leave the block clean, pegged and photographed. If what is on the ground does not match the drawings, you get a call that morning rather than a variation at the end.
